CSconnected represents and promotes the interests of the Compound Semiconductor (CS) Cluster in South Wales. Since 2017 we have worked with the growing community of high-tech companies and research & innovation institutions to support the continuing growth of our sector. 

CSconnected undertakes a wide range of activities to help the sector address challenges and increase its visibility to potential employees and to attract new collaboration opportunities alike. The Welsh cluster leverages over 40 years of research and manufacturing in semiconductors and is the first to focus on compound semiconductors which are the underlying technology to enable added functionality in communications, AI, robotics, electrification, advanced medical devices, and consumer electronics. 

Job Summary

This role supports the smooth operation of CSconnected by ensuring the coordination of the cluster’s Front of House sites, attending local events and engaging with partners and members to support the growth and sustainability of the CSconnected cluster while providing essential administrative and logistical support.

THE ROLE: 

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain knowledge of CSconnected activities to support daily operations effectively.
  • Oversee the daily organisation of the cluster’s Front of House sites, ensuring they are welcoming and prepared for visitors.
  • Coordinate visits, workshops and meetings on the day, managing set-up, liaising with venues and vendors, and acting as a point of contact to welcome partners and visitors visiting our Front of House sites across South Wales.
  • Attend local outreach and events across South Wales, handling stand set-up, marketing materials, and engaging with attendees while capturing photos and summaries for post-event promotional content.
  • Work with the Communications Coordinator to maintain stock levels of promotional materials and office supplies, ensuring availability for events and meetings.
  • Coordinate the process for onboarding new partners and members within the CSconnected cluster.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day management of partners and members, coordinating services, and ensuring members receive agreed benefits.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Coordinator to promote event and member activities through social media, newsletters, and other channels.
  • Maintain the membership database, ensuring accurate up-to-date records.
  • Monitor and evaluate member engagement, contributing to reports and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Set up and coordinate the Outreach Skills Calendar with the Skills Manager and external partners, working with the Communications Coordinator to align on event activities.

 

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience in event coordination, including on-the-day logistics and liaising with vendors and venues.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage priorities effectively.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment, including travel and face-to-face meetings across South Wales. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, to engage confidently with partners, visitors, and stakeholders.
  • Strong IT proficiency

Desirable

  • Interest in technology and science.
  • Knowledge of the Welsh compound semiconductor industry or a willingness to learn.
  • Administrative skills, including maintaining databases and tracking deliverables.
  • Experience working in a network, cluster, or partnership environment.
