CSconnected represents organisations who are directly associated with research, development, innovation and manufacturing of compound semiconductor related technologies as well as organisations across the supply chains whose products and services are enabled by compound semiconductors. The UK, and in particular, Wales, is home to a growing number of organisations and businesses that are active in this increasingly important industry sector.

From 26th to 29th April, the CSconnected cluster will be at World of Quantum which is part of Laser World of Photonics 2022 at Messe Munich.

Compound semiconductors are essential in enabling quantum technologies and the CSconnected cluster is excited to play a key role in a number of quantum related projects such as QFoundry.

Quantum technologies are set to open up a range of new opportunities in applications ranging from computing and cryptography to sensing, imaging, secure communications, and medicine.

QFoundry is a UKRI/Innovate UK funded programme that aims to deliver a national open-access quantum photonic component foundry. Such a capability will build on the UK’s enviable reputation for innovation by creating the foundations for robust, scalable component manufacture in the UK to enable the scaling of a quantum technology system industry.
