Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and confident individual to support the delivery of outreach and skills initiatives across the region.

The role involves representing CSconnected in education and outreach settings at schools, colleges and public events, delivering talks or assemblies, supporting interactive STEM projects, and assisting with coordination and administration of skills activities.

Flexibility is key, as events may take place on different days each week.

THE ROLE: 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Deliver engaging assemblies, school talks and outreach sessions to promote STEM and semiconductor careers.
  • Support the organisation and delivery of CSconnected Outreach and Skills events, careers fairs and regional outreach programmes.
  • Assist the Skills Manager with ongoing projects, event planning and day-to-day coordination.
  • Monitor and maintain the shared skills calendar, ensuring activities and bookings are up to date.
  • Liaise with schools, colleges, and outreach partner organisations to schedule and confirm visits.
  • Help prepare and transport materials and equipment
  • Capture basic feedback and participation data from outreach and skills events to support evaluation and reporting.
  • Represent CSconnected professionally at all times, acting as an ambassador for the cluster and its partners.
  • Work with the CSconnected Communications team to coordinate outreach event listings, promotion, and materials (e.g. banners, collateral, visuals).

Person Specification

Essential

  • Confident communicator, comfortable presenting to groups of students and educators.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing schedules or event requirements.
  • Full driving licence and access to transport (travel across South Wales required).
  • Enthusiasm for STEM education and engaging young people.
  • Experience with admin tools such as Outlook calendars, Teams or shared drives.
  • This role involves working with young people, so a DBS check is required

Desirable

  • Experience working in education, outreach or events.
  • Background or interest in science, technology, or engineering.

Working Pattern

  • Flexible part-time role (2–3 days per week) or on a zero-hours agreement, depending on candidate availability and event schedule.
  • Core hours between Monday and Friday; occasional early starts or travel to events may be required.
