National Engineering Day with the Royal Academy of Engineering
National Engineering Day is a UK-wide campaign that aims to increase public awareness of engineering’s vital role in society and inspire future generations into the profession. This year the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) are focused on the future of engineering careers, and how best to support young people in becoming engineers – an important aspiration, given the skills challenges the UK faces.
The reception will see the release of the 'AI-Z of Engineering' – a modern, future-focused guide to the world of engineering roles, from today’s careers to the possible job opportunities of tomorrow. Its aim is to demonstrate some of the roles that young people entering the discipline might be working in, both today and in 25 years. RAEng will also launch the findings of our ‘Engineers 2030’ policy project, rethinking engineering and technology skills for a world in which both people and planet can thrive.
